Meet Cat Timmerman

Catherine “Cat” Timmerman is a veteran public school educator, small-business owner, and longtime Lyndon resident dedicated to strengthening neighborhoods and improving the quality of life for families across Metro Louisville.

Cat was raised in Louisville and is a lifelong Catholic who attended St. Margaret Mary Catholic School and later graduated from Sacred Heart Academy. She went on to earn a B.A. from Eastern Kentucky University, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Bellarmine University, a Doctorate in Education from Spalding University, and an English as a Second Language (ESL) Certification from the University of the Cumberlands.

For more than 25 years, Cat has served Jefferson County Public Schools in a variety of teaching and leadership roles. Her experience includes classroom teaching across multiple grade levels as well as supporting school improvement efforts as an academic interventionist, mentor teacher, and PBIS Behavior Coach. Cat is currently an ESL teacher at Sanders Elementary. Throughout her career, she has been known for her dedication to her students, her data-driven approach, her commitment to helping every student succeed, and for making learning fun.

Outside the classroom, Cat is a published author and the owner of Cat’s Cookies, where she combines her love of baking and creativity to make custom treats. She enjoys cooking, reading, entertaining friends and neighbors, and—above all—spending time with her two beloved German shepherds, Ace and Ruby Tuesday, who is a rescue.  A lifelong animal lover, she also serves as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors for The Charlotte Fund. The Charlotte Fund helps animal rescues to provide needed treatment and supplies to animals in crisis.

Cat is a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church.

A resident of Lyndon since the early 1990s, Cat is running for Louisville Metro Council to bring responsive leadership, strong neighborhood advocacy, and a commitment to practical solutions. She believes city government should be accessible, transparent, and focused on delivering results—safer streets, reliable services, thriving local communities, and consistency at City Hall.
